Aquatic Exercise Effective for Users with Knee Pain
May 28, 2015
Knee pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints second only to knee arthritis. There are several treatments available to relieve pain and improve functions in patients with knee arthritis- weight loss and low impact quadriceps strengthening exercises have been shown to be among the most effective.
Regular exercise therapy may not be well tolerated by everyone, particularly those with severe knee pain. Aquatic therapy allows the patient to maintain mobility and also improve stamina while in a low-impact and relatively low-stress environment. In a study published in February, researchers reviewed all the available evidence on this treatment modality and concluded that aquatic exercise was beneficial in the short term to patients suffering from arthritis of the knee.
SimpleTherapy offers a variety of low-impact exercise therapy programs designed by you and for you to help your achy knees.
