Physical Therapy Patients May Improve Faster Without Opioids
January 26, 2016
A new study out of the University of Alberta shows that patients who elect not to take prescription pain killers (opioids) actually regain function faster from physical therapy than those who do.
“Patients who were not prescribed any type of opioid had statistically lower disabilities and higher physical function scores over the course of 12 months than those who received the drugs, after adjusting for the severity of individual conditions,” said the study.
